Good. I read that it was a complete waste to even buy it. I'm just waiting for the Almighty EA to announce new stuff in the Store that "compliments" the new stuff pack.... i.e. Stuff they purposely removed to sell separately.

I'll be honest in saying I have only purchased 3 Sim 3 games...having purchased ALL of the original, and 2, I felt that expacs etc weren't worth my money unless they provided what I wanted most. Only 2 did that, which was pets and seasons, and I bought the original. All the rest are courtesy of the ARRR.

Finally
finished downloading the 3 gigs. Yup, Fairlight release works perfectly. Don't forget to also install the new patch that repairs the radio stations music.

3GB? There must be a lot of redundancy there. I bought it on Steam (yeah yeah, I know, I'm a sucker) and it only downloaded some ridiculously paltry amount like 30 MB or something.
Granted, Steam regularly updates the version of the game and already patched it to 1.48.4 the other day before the pack came along and they may have snuck some hidden content in some of the patches, but still 3GB seems really excessive.

It's the damn patches, the pirates rarely removes them. That's why your steam download was instant. The installed thing is merely 180Mo, still more than Master Suite which is 150Mo or Katy Perry (170Mo). The biggest SP must be Hels with its 266Mo.

There's a repack without the patch files and it's only 227MB , works without a problem.

Yep, same here. I wait for half price sales, BOGO, etc. For now, ARRR thank you very much.

Have you got winrar? You just need to associate one of the files to winrar and you can open it.
It caught me off guard the first time I hit that type of multi part compression too.

I've come across these types before but I've never had any problems before. I kept getting a cdc error, eventually I got it though. Got some other errors while installing, hopefully it doesn't end in a BFBVFS.

Redownload the files that hiccuped? I got the FLT from iptorrents, and it was perfect. Pop into grah if you want a download link KT.
Edited to add: EA finally had a chance to do something awesome, and give us some truly outrageous hairs, Jem-esque from the 80s. Sadly they did not.
This is one of the hairs they gave us:
Very Susie Quatro.
This is as close as I can get without massive CC [just CC hair]:

ZipGenius is also a good program to unRAR something.
And dammit, I didn't want this SP. Now I MUST HAVE that makeup and oufit.

It ended up a BFBVFS so I uninstalled it and found another FLT that was just the ISO, worked fine.

How they managed to miss out on the iconic 80s hairstyles, I have no idea. Where is my crimped hair? Where are my poofy bangs, teased to the high heavens? WHERE IS MY KID N' PLAY HAIR?
BAH, I SAY. BAH!

What do you really expect when the people designing the stuff were probably either the figment of someones imagination or still in diapers during the periods in question. We already know they don't test their shit properly, so it would be a bit far fetched to expect them to do any real research into the periods beyond the odd TV show or movie.

I agree with KT. The guys don't have hardly anything in any of the expansion packs or the stuff packs. Even when the store updates, they give most of the clothes and hair to the girls. I know when I create a guy, it doesn't take long for the guy's clothes or hair to load. I thought they would have the long hair for guys in this stuff pack or Jezzer's crimped hair or poofy bangs. I'm thinking whoever did this stuff pack probably was too young to remember what the hair and fashion was in the 70's and 80's.
