Game freezes when my sims tries to get mail, in Seasons

I have all the expansions packs, and all but two of the stuff packs, and my game is patched to 1.42. I use win 7, and the game runs smoothly under all circumstances except the one mentioned below.

I have AM installed as well.

My game freezes whenever my sim tries to get mail out of the mailbox, on all saves, and with different sims, in different saves.

I have googled the error, and it seems to be EAxian, but there is no readily available fix for it, that I have found.

I did a search here as well, and found nothing, so I figured I would ask those that are wiser than me in the ways of Sims if you perhaps know of a solution (Other than the obvious "Don't ever get mail again stupid!")

I await the poking with pointy sticks and ridicule.

I suspect your mailbox is infected with omni plant gift boxes which need to be manually nuked.

You obviously didn't search very well, or you're full of shit about claiming to have searched.  This has been covered to death in a very extensive thread, and recently.
