Do you crack previous versions of EPs?

I arr'd a copy of Pets, installed and cracked it, but now am considering also getting Late Night. When I download it, do I install the crack again (replacing the old files in C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Game/Bin), or just leave it be, since Pets is a later version than LN?

Basically, do you crack earlier versions of expansion and stuff packs if you download them later?

Why have a cracked game when you can download AM and play the game that way.
