Is Anyone Using Process Monitor Now?
daisylee:
I used it in the past with no problems and now no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I have read the few threads and the help section at MTS but the information is all a bit old now. Something must have changed.
Can you use it now to check the packages you have and if so what settings are you using in the filter?
All help will be appreciated as I really want to get it working again. I have all EPs and SPs. I am using Windows 7.
Skadi:
Are you using 64bit Windows?
MS messed with program and the newer versions no longer work in 64bit environments.
daisylee:
Yes, mine is 64.
This is what I have.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506)
I do not think I could get it to work on my laptop last time I tried either which has Vista. It used to work on the laptop as I bought it before Sims 3 came out and I used it to weed out items when we had the lemoncandy/others blue lots issue fiasco. But I am sure I tried on it about 6 months ago before I got this desktop and it would no longer work there. So a MS update must have messed up that too.
I wonder if I can get an older version of Process Monitor that will work or if no it seems like PM needs to update to work with 64 bit?
Jessnova:
Funny, works fine for me. What version of Process Monitor are you using? Are you using the right filter settings? Things changed after Pets, remember.
My settings, let me show you them.
Version 2.93
Process Name Contains = TS3W.exe = include
Event Class = Profiling = exclude
Not that I'm sure it's necessary to exclude the Profiling, but I do.
daisylee:
I have the latest PM 3.1.0.0.
I set the filter as you have it, and it worked.
Thank you!
Edit: I could tell my game was running poorly. Just found 12 bad items so far. I am so happy to have this working again with your help. This program is a must for this game. I would never have found these problem items without it.
