Cristalfiona - Hehe, did she act drunk or anything?  Someone told me this story of an obnoxious girl they knew who waas just dumb whenever she drank alcohol, and so they gave her virgin drinks and after about 2 of them, she was acting pissed and being an idiot.  Cheesy

No, she was always really surprised, because she felt quite sober after drinking about 3 jugs of my cocktails, even after she "saw" me put the alcohol in. I only told her because she thought her drinks were getting spiked when she went out clubbing.

Oh, I prefer the shots (a) but will sometimes have 'em mixed (b) instead if I wanna be a bit more in control of my intake, kwim :)

Congratulations on the little one!  When's the young'un due to arrive?

I actually quite like virgin drinks as well, so if you don't wanna drink alone, I'll join you :)

Back when I was in college (before I found my own brand of idiocy and dropped out to get married and start a family) I did an experiment for a sociology paper. I had the same people over to my place every night for 3 weeks.
Every night for one week I fed them drinks on a schedule and recorded their behavior.
For one week I made weak drinks and told them they were strong, and recorded their behavior.
For one week I made strong drinks and told them they were mild and recorded they behavior.
In the end the basic conclusion came down to the fact that people are as drunk as they think they should be. Yes, alcohol content plays a part, but belief in the alcohol content appears to have more effect.
Since then I have read somewhere that intoxication is 70% mental (I wish I could remember where). Whatever. I'll just continue to enjoy that other 30%.

Does this look 70% mental to you?  Yes, that is alcohol being poured directly into my mouth.

How about this? I'm the one in the middle being held up...and sober hair didn't look like that, even in 1989.

I too found my own brand of idiocy in college. It was called "academic probation" because of excess partying.  After which I took the "easy way out" and dropped out to get married. LOL

It was a theme room for a house party. All little sisters to the fraternity were in charge of the "orgasm room".
Of course, this was also back when Madonna wore underwear outside of her clothes...so yeah. We were stylin' too.

I didn't have lingerie parties in college. By '92 the underwear as outerwear thing was no longer stylin'. By the way, you were cute.

I have had alcohol poured directly in my mouth. Mostly with apple pie shooters, but not always.

Apple Pie Shooters
Drinker lies back, and does not swallow until told to
pourer pours 1/4 shot of apple juice
                   1 shot of vodka
                   1/4 shot of apple juice
                  small pinch of cinnamon
into drinkers mouth
drinker swallows and immediately takes bite of whipped cream that pourer has ready

tastes just like apple pie
hours later you wonder how in the hell you got drunk off of pie

Less painful than the tequila ones, but not nearly as fun getting them.

The New Zealand version is tequila slammers on a car bonnet.

Lie back on a car bonnet, someone pours a shot of tequila in and someone else a small squirt of lime. Swallow as you stand up. What a rush!

Been a long time since then.  Wink
