In dire need of help...Deleted Custom Content keeps regenerating!!

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I'm going to be pasting this on every message board that I can to get as many answers as I can, so if you see it somewhere else, that's why. I've been trying to figure this problem out for 5 days now.

Now onto my problem, a while back I downloaded items from modthesims2 and a few other places for my Charmed manor. I got done building it, packaged it to a file and deleted it from the neighborhood. I deleted my downloads folder because I didn't use all of the objects. I installed the packaged lot, went into it to check it, and all of the custom objects that were there reverted back to the objects that they were made with, so basically all of them were gone. I noticed that the pictures had overwritten the originals!!! Example: One of the pictures that was duplicated off of the Bella Squared picture, replaced the Bella Squared. I knew the only way to fix this would be to reinstall it because I sure didn't want the originals to be overwritten.

I deleted all of the custom content in the Charmed manor and packaged it back up again. I deleted the downloads folder, then installed the packaged lot, I then realized that a few of the items that had been removed were in the Objects catalog again, I deleted them. I figured, maybe it was because of the packaged lot, so I deleted the lot in the game and installed the package again. Sure enough the objects reappeared. I went through the entire lot, there were no custom objects to be found.

I deleted the lot out of the game, deleted the downloads folder, and this time, I also deleted the packaged lot. I rebuilt the Charmed manor OVER again, packaged the lot to a file, and I get the lovely "This application has crashed and will now terminate" error message.

So, I figured ok, I'll start over again, I MANUALLY uninstalled the Sims, and reinstalled it. I created the Charmed manor YET AGAIN, no custom content objects, at all (I actually had the display custom content turned off while I was building it). I packaged the lot, deleted the lot from the game, and installed the packaged lot, I looked through buy mode, the objects were there again.

At this point I thought maybe it was my computer, so I ran virus scans, adware scans, defrag, system restore, nothing worked. So I just decided to forget it and did a System Recovery (for those who might not know, this process deletes EVERYTHING that you've done and restores your PC to exactly how it was when you purchased it), reinstalled some of my programs, then I installed the Sims 2 back in.

So, I rebuilt the house, packaged it, yada yada yada, THIS time I installed the packaged lot with the Sims2Pack Clean Installer, those objects were in the package (they weren't highlighted in red or anything) even after all of the reinstalling and the System Recovery. I unchecked them, proceeded with the install, went into the game and figured ok this time I know they're not installed with it, so I attempted to package the lot up, but I received the error message again. I opened the Clean Installer and those items that I unchecked previously, were there, but they were highlighted in pink because it said that they were empty packages, I deleted them, went back into my game and reattempted the packaging, but instead got the error message again. The lot will package as long as I leave the custom content alone, but I don't want it there! I don't understand how they keep resurfacing.

I'm open for suggestions and/or Solutions.

To recap, this is what I've done, so please don't tell me to do it again:
-Reinstalled
-Reinstalled Manually
-System Restore
-System Recovery
-Defragged
-Virus scan with Norton
-Adware Scan with Lavasoft
-Used Sims2 Clean Installer
-Used Custom Content Manager from the Sims 2 site

There may be a few other things I've done, but please read this thread thoroughly and understand it before answering to make sure I haven't already tried it. If it's confusing, I'm sorry, I know I confused myself while making it, if you need more info, just ask. Thanks in advance~!

This is the way I've been tackling this lately - because I build lots with all the custom content I want, then put the lot in a clean sims 2 folder and strip the custom content. This method has worked for me so far.

I package my lot.
Rename the sims2 folder under My Docs to sims2_old or something. Start the game to have it generate the new sims 2 folder.
Use Delphy's sims2 multi-pack extractor from MTS2 - it will extract one file, not just many.
Put the lotsegment(forupload?).package in the teleport folder - make sure there is nothing else in there.
Put the custom content you want to keep in the downloads folder.
Boot up the game and place your lot.
When you enter the lot, the custom items should have been replaced by standard Maxis objects - if the content was still recognisable as a toilet for instance.

If you're doing this for uploading lots, look for phone-line controller - this hack always tries to sneak in to packaged lots.

I have a separate profile (desktop) in Windows that I use for a clean version of the sims2 so that if I want to create anything hackless I don't have to worry about any extra files being there. Hence, you have an all new My Documents folder, and it generates an all new EA Games > Sims 2 folder.  I never install any hacks to this profile. I only put in downloads things that I have created myself. It may be a little extreme, but if you do any creating that you want to share, this is the way to go.

Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing helped...

Try deleting the Teleport folder.

I tried that, but I'm still getting the error message.

Tried it, but the lot isn't in the bin.

I've already made the lot on a clean install....

twice with absolutely no downloads in the folder.

I think you make a mistake while using the Clean Installer;

You have to hilight the object's line, right-click on it, and choose "remove". Now the object will be deleted permanently.

I know what you mean, but I did click the "Remove" not the "Disable"

Try magnetically wiping and then physically destroying the drives containing the offending files. It sounds like you have some kind of very persistent virus.
