THANKS THIS IS GREAT

1) Are those the "DCBackup" and "DCCache" folders, or just one of them?
2) Does doing so remove them from the launcher and the game, or just one?

DCBackup is a waste of space, delete it regardless. DCCache has all the items you've installed via the launcher in it in a few large DBC files.
So what is the effect of deleting DCBackup and why is it there?

The effect of deleting the files in DCBackup is that you no longer have the files that used to be in there. It is what it says it is: a backup of files that you've already installed using the Launcher.

As such they're redundant and it's entirely your choice whether to keep them on your hard drive or not.

Thanks, now it is clear to me. Another question: do you know if it's possible to find the thumbnails associated with each .Sims3Pack? Are there in some file that ends up in the My-name folder or Program Files folders when you install them? I'm referring to the thumbnails that appear in the Launcher.

The thumbnails are built into the Sims3Pack. It's like a package witch can contain a bunch of stuff like packages, but more for the launcher. So, no, the thumbnails are not in any folder. They are purely inside the Sims3Pack.
You can find some more info on them here: http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:SIMS3PACK

I've bought Outdoor Living but I can't for the life of me find a registration incentive.
If someone has seen it I'd be more than happy to grab it and upload.

They usually only do the registration rewards for EPs, not SPs.

HELS had pre-order bonuses, FLS had an 'incentive' for everyone. Don't remember pre-order bonuses there. No idea if there are any pre-order things for OLS. If there's an incentive similar to the one from FLS we'll see it this Thursday.

The crappy hair and helmet set. It went with FLS, but it was free for everyone. So, semi-incentive, hence the ''.

Le Edit: UPS just delivered my copy, and while it still encourages one to 'register' for 'awesome stuff', it just mentions the crapchange, other 'features' of the official website, and nothing else. The only store ad is depicting Barnacle Bay.

Same here. Eh they probably won't do anything. I just didn't know if anyone had heard of anything since HELs had one. I totally forgot about FLs crap incentive. Anyway I just thought I'd put it out there. :/

Holy crap, had no idea that's all it was.  Thanks, just cleared myself 2GB on this crappy tiny partition by deleting all that shit.

There are three new sets.

Carnivale Celebration! which is free.

Futureshock Kitchen at 850 points.

Jazz Age Living Room + Jazz Age Wear at 1900 points.

Or, through a new thing they are doing, you can buy both sets together, at 2600 points.

^Could you tell us which items you received? I'm not at my sims computer at the moment, but I probably have just enough points to pick up the other items and can post them when I get home in a couple hours.
