TS2 Toddler Separates - Can It Be Done?
« on: 2010 June 15, 18:15:23 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I'm attempting to make toddler separates, with mixed results.
Would welcome help with this project.  Details at MTS.

If this has been tried and proven to be impossible, would also like to know that before I get too far into this.

The game does not really support this. And frankly, I'm not seeing the point. Toddlers only stick around for a few days, and even if you don't let them age on their own because they're annoying, whiny maggots, it's not as if you can keep them from automatically switching back into their babysuits.

You don't need to see the point. Smiley  Those who like toddler sims and dressing pixel dollies see the point.
You roast and stomp them, we'll dress them, everybody's happy.

Could you please elaborate on how the game doesn't support this?  The movie I put up shows a toddler changing into various separates.  There are problems, yes, but are they due to my not quite right CRES, or something unmoddable in the game?

There have been mods that affect how older sims change clothes or don't change clothes, so could one be made to prevent toddlers from changing into pj's in cribs?  Has this been tried and proven to be undoable?  If not, I see another project.

I wouldn't want them to not wear their pj's in the cribs. That would look uncomfortable.

I always just have someone change them into their everyday outfits at the changing table as soon as they take them out of the crib though.

As for outerwear and formals...those I do not get the point of. When the hell are these kids leaving the house?

What changing table?  Don't toddlers already have separates?

Sorry, I didn't notice this was a TS2 thread.   Embarrassed  I'm in TS3 mode. There is no changing table and there are toddler separates in TS3.

I think using pet bed for daytime napping at least. Some toddler outfits appear both everyday- and pj-categories. So not changing would be just same outfit in both I guess.

As for Toddler Outerwear and Formal... Well, there are some things toddlers can do outside (like ride that little horsie that came with AL), maybe play with snow/leafs/butterflies... And at least a plantbaby ought to be outside as much as possible to get the sunlightneed. So outerwear is nice to be there... Granted, if my normal tods are going out, it's aging off usually.

As far as the Toddler formal outfit... There's only one that comes with the games and it's the one the New-Year-baby wears. It was obviously made for that event.

But, if they don't have formals, what are they going to wear to their parent's wedding?  Wink

Same thing as always, I imagine: That babysuit that they always end up in no matter what you try to do. Trying to keep a toddler from wearing its babysuit all the time is like fighting entropy. Entropy always wins.
