What qualifies as "boring" gossip?

I'm tempted to clear boring gossip with the batbox just so that I might see interesting gossip more often, but I worry that what I consider to be boring and what J.M. considers to be boring are two different things.

I mostly only consider fires, burnt food, and dormies passing out to be boring.

I wish my sims would gossip more about electrocution, affairs, and pants-wetting-at-parties.

"boring" gossip is any gossip token that has expired to zero strength, meaning it would not be chosen in any event and now constitutes a waste of memory.

EDIT - However, I suppose I'm the only one this late in the game who wonders how gossip is chosen. I'm not actually late at all. I just never bothered to ask until now.

The answer is that it is chosen randomly from an arbitrary weighted list of the most recent gossipable events.
