World Adventures - Family Vanishes While on Vacation - Any Fixes?

So I took a family I regularly play on vacation to France.  When France finished loading, the enitre family had vanished; instead, all I could do was pan around France.  I can't seem to leave France and get back to Sunset Valley either.  Any thoughts on how this might be fixed or what fuel I should use to burn my copy of WA?

I have saved. And I have also restarted the game.

I've got the same problem. I've got an earlier save where the sim 'head bust' does indeed show while in the hood (Egypt), but when I try to return home via the phone, the loading bar appears, only to load Egypt again.
I tried to edit town in the home hood and change the active family, but its greyed out because they are not currently in the home hood.
How can I get this sim home again?

Just a suggestion, but if you have Twallan's Supercomputer, you could try "Recover missing Sims".

No, didn't work. He's not technically missing, he's still walking around.

My family has disappeared on vacation as well. No longer can go back to any vacation spot. I have loaded up my back up save and everything was fine but not long after the same thing has happened AGAIN! I'm going crazy has anyone figured this out?
