Oh thats me. I tried again. I'm stuck at 93.2 percent
I do promise once I set it up and confirmed the items worked, i'll seed for as long as I can.
Edit: Oh perfect. BigPond Assist (My Internet Service Provider is BigPond and it SUCKS) just had a pop up saying that there is a schedualed downtime for repairs or something in about two hours. This download better finished soon because I want to seed this for other users.
New more important edit: IT'S DONE! 10 HOURS LATER AND IT'S FINALLY DOWNLOADED! Testing it first then I'll seed it.
Edit3: Riverviews gone.

Says the OP: 30/12/09Here is the Riverview.world file. 62MB Please use this instead of the Riverview.Sims3Pack included in the Pirate Bay torrent. D'oh! This file goes in: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds Put the Riverview.world file in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds like Witch instructed. Next, you must delete the Riverview.world file from your InstalledWorlds folder in your Documents to get it to work correctly. [/quote]

Riverview should be able to be added in the same manner as per the original instructions. It works for me. I actually have 2 Riverviews, somehow, but they both work.

Yes I had that problem in the beginning, RiverView hadn't been in the right place. Follow the directions very carefully.

One day in college I was feeling very stupid. So I drove with Ben down to Maitland and toured EA Tiburon for an hour as an 'honorary intern'. I left feeling MUCH smarter. I recommend the experience to everyone. -this is a quote from an Ex-boyfriend of mine.. http://www.mediafire.com/?ng20de0zmly

I don't know what it may be, but I can say that it works on 7 for me. Are you putting it in your Documents or the Program Files? I had automatically associated .dbc with the DCC folder, which crashed my game until I noticed I was being stupid and moved it to the Mods/Packages folder.
I should not Sims before coffee.

sweet! i figured out my lame problem... i created a separate folder in the C: directory called DCCache and put all the files there instead of in the packages. duh... moved them over and they are all there. guess i did not follow directions that well after all...

Now Mr SlipperyBoots, now your panic is over, how about killing those ellipses and locating your shift button. Grammar is important here.

Should I just add Skadi's new stuff in with the rest?

well, after troubleshooting every possible problem i might have with this working, i can not figure it out as a mere peasant. I'm confused as to where exactly I am supposed to place the resource.cfg file after i've installed the framework and if i'm supposed to alter anything in the files to work with the framework. also, i have a mac, so my directories are a bit different, and I can't figure out where exactly i am supposed to install all the framework files, so I just put them in both the world adventures and base game download directories. I am supposed to alter the yourname part in the resource.cfg file, yes? nothing is working.

Skadi says she hasn't changed the filename yet. I haven't put the stuff in my game, but when I do I will rename it to dcdb 3.dbc, because I already have files 0, 1, and 2. Then I will just drop the file in with the other 3. Fairly incoherent cry for help.
kittypox, please find your shift key. In regards to your Mac problem, there are threads on this board which are dedicated to running TS3 on Macs. Have a browse through those and see if you can find answers to your questions. I have no idea.

Okay. I found the shift key. Basically, which resource.cfg am I supposed to replace? The one in the Mods>Files folder or the one in the regular directory? I am utterly hopeless confused. Must I alter it in any way, shape, or form? Many future thanks.

Mine is here: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures - because that's where I installed my framework.
It looks like this:
Priority 500 DirectoryFiles Mods/Packages/... autoupdate PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.dbc PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.dbc

Skadi, I cannot express enough how thankful I am for this. I was having such difficulty changing files with that file editor application, I decided to give up rather than screw up something on Sims 3 and have to do another un/reinstall. Again, I thank you.

I spent hours trying to figure this out, reading and re-reading this thread so I didn't have to hassle someone with inane questions. I figured out that the included Resources.cfg file had not included the one line needed, which pointed in the direction of the file. (Or maybe it did, I just accidentally pasted over the original file in my frantic attempts to get things to work.) If you are pasting your *.dbc files into your The Sims 3/Mods/DCCache folder, you need to have the following line in your Resources.cfg: PackedFile Mods/DCCache/*.dbc
That points it to the correct destination. Like many people found, you don't need the *.dbc files pasted in two different locations. I'm sorry if this is reiterating information in this thread on accident (like I said, I read through but I mighta missed something..), but if I was having trouble with it, maybe someone else was, too.

That's "affect" in this case.
I don't know, why not just try moving the files to the desktop and booting your game? That should give you your answer.

Deleting all your DBCs will remove all your installed content, and you will have to install it again. Duh.
