Missing merchants

I swear somewhere I ran into some information about missing merchants and some kind of fix for it in WA and I blew it off 'cause I didn't have the issue. Now I do and my searchfu fails me. Please help? One of my family members doesn't have merchants in Egypt when he travels. The other ones do. I'm too askairt to send others with him in hopes of curing the missing merchants, after all the opposite may happen and the merchants might poof for them as well.

So all your Egypt merchants are missing?  For me it's just the bookseller.  I havn't visited France with this family yet, but all the China merchants are on duty.  I did a little google searhing and found this: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/134115.page  sounds complicated, but I'm gonna try it to see if it works.

my chinese merchant is missing he seems to done a runner but another special merchant is highlighted but I can't give her the relics

Your Chinese merchant probably died. In that case, you just have to abandon the quest... it should come up again sooner or later.
