Freezing at Opening

After the shitty video thing plays out, my game won't load past the screen that says "The Sims 2 Apartement Life." When minimized, Task Manager confims that it's 'Not Responding'. I've yanked the Download folder out in case it was tight pants, but no joy. I've got all the expansions, and the latest patch.

Any help's appreciated, thanks.

Try deleting the Accessory, cigen, ContentRegistry and Groups files in your "The Sims 2" folder.
