sim won't come home from work and is about to expire

I am using the proper director's cut for my eps.  The Sims 2, Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Seasons, BV. I am playing on a mac. Have been using this setup for close to 6 mo. now and this is the first time this has happened. Also the speeds seem to be borked. I am running on a Mac Book Pro intel core duo processor. I have been so delighted up until this happened with the speed! I have not added any different mods or changes since installing on this computer.

Any help would be well, helpful.
