where do my downloads go? nothing in mods>packages

just trying better undestand how my games works,
i have the install monkey and it works just dandy, and i see most of the things i actually download in my game but when i try to go invistigate where my downloaded files go,,,welll thats the thing i can't find them. there no in my programs or documents.there only in the same folders iorignally saved them in on my desktop,
so whats the deal with al that?
is it suspose to be like that, if so whats the point of the folders created in progams mod>packages ?

and one more thing
i don't understand how to do either of thoes.
could you eloborate.
i thought i did download my game to c:/games ?
and how do i do what ever with the uac  ? i turned it off and i still see know changes in the folders.?

You either turn of UAC altogether via Control Panel (which I absolutely don't recommend since it effectively makes your system less secure!!).
Or you just  go into Program Files, right-click on the "Electronic Arts" folder, go to  Properties/Security. There you click "Edit", highlight your actual account and set a check mark at "full control" .
In case your actual account isn't in the list, you'd have to use the ADD button first.

I object: they would still do the same engraving the rocks. I would suggest Precambrian; IIRC bacteria don't have opposable thumbs.
