Guitar stuck in inventory

One of my sims was playing his guitar, put it in his backpack, and can't interact with it anymore. How do I get rid of the damn thing?

This is probably a stupidly obvious suggestion, but you tried manually dragging the item out of the inventory back onto the ground(or into the sell bin), right?

Or just purge the inventory and rebuy it.(Requires AwesomeMod)

ah, yes - I tried dragging it out. I can't do anything with it. I didn't know I could purge it - how awesome!
