Be careful what you keep outside in the front lawn. Thief went for the door, then backtracked and stole my giant space rock and ran to the curb and drove off. Alarm didn't sound, no police came. :[

Have you tried putting the alarm outside? That used to be a mainstay for me in TS2, but I haven't tested yet for TS3. I'll see if I can't get a burglar. In four generations, I've only had two robberies.

Alarms work great outside in TS3.

Repomen will also beeline to your rare gems and rocks first. More annoying than typical repo snatching, as you can buy most repossessed items, but have to go through the tedium of replacing a rare collectible by rummaging or running in circles around town.

There's a delay between the popup that says the repo man is coming and when he actually shows up. Go into buy mode and stuff anything you care about into your family inventory.

That doesn't surprise me. There is almost no sense of humor in TS3 compared to the other two.
