Looks like it does have flat edges. However, your upload contains a recolor & the phone line controller hack. I've cleaned it up with Clean Installer.

De-lurking to add my attempt at this month's House of Phail. I kept all of the trees and the pond, but I did have to move a couple of the trees in the front yard to get what I wanted. I think I only moved them by one space or so, though.

First floor contains the one desk, lockable kitchen and stairwell, space for spawn and various skilling zones. Also has an attached garage with mini-gym/spa and indoor pool at the back, with one-size-fits-all bathroom.


Second floor contains three out of the four bedrooms and a second one-size-fits-all bathroom (note: since this is upstairs, all other exits from the stairwell are lockable in case your Sims are hosting a party and the guests are too stupid to find the bathroom in the garage). The large room at the bottom of the picture is a mini-club with bar, pool tables and instruments.


Third floor contains the master bedroom and bathroom, and one secret room for witchery things or suchlike. There's also a mini-study (and the computer is on a table, not a desk. )

This house is a monster, sheesh. I've been working on it but it's still both fugly and HUGE.

I downloaded the OFB only version and stuck the lot in Sedona. I have all EPs and most SPs, but NOT M&G on this computer. The lot value is under $150,000 as is.

I chose to add a section to the front of the house to make the turret section less isolated. Then, I demolished all the walls and stairs inside, as I generally prefer to make a more open space with lots of room to get around objects and other sims. I made the master bedroom and upstairs baths two-stories tall so as to keep the playable top floor space limited to its orginal single room with balcony.

Here is my submission for this month, probably the only one I'll do this time. It took me a long time to get it completed, plus I no longer have high speed and am relegated back to dial-up which takes forever to upload pictures and/or files to photobucket and box.net, increasing my frustration levels to level red. In fact I have not gotten pictures all uploaded to photobucket as yet and will post only one here (with a link) after I do.

Okay, a day later than I thought but here's my entry:

Rooms & Rates: Couple Suite A (§859/night), Couple Suite B (§989/night), Friend Suite (§738/night), Family Suite (§1,058/night)
Amenities: Full service restuarant, billiards lounge, sauna, ice skating rink, fishing pond, and TV set & bookshelf in each suite

Obviously, since this is a working hotel, you'll need to place it in a vacation neighborhood for it to be fully operational. I had in mind a mountain vacation neighborhood when designing this.

No CC. I have all EPs. For SPs I have GL, H&M, TS, K&B, IKEA, M&G.

Since this house is a big one, and was only going to get bigger, I decided to challenge myself and see if I could modify it to resemble the Shinra mansion.  Of course I was limited by the not moving external walls, and no CC but I think it turned out pretty good.  <The Shinra mansion on MTS2 bugs me because there is a garage and no basement so I've been attempting to create a more accurate one.>

I did not play-test this, but I did force a Sim into it to wander and make sure everything was accessible/usable.

Well, I'm hoping there are some more submissions coming! Looks like TS3 has killed this a bit.

Unlimited: Your version has this classy, almost New England feel to it, very nice.

Anria: Nice "party" house. With a few modifications, this would make a great fraternity/sorority house!

ciane: I like the big windows, no lack for light here. More of a modern take, but still with a traditional feel. I especially like the kitchen.

chobeegal: I like the look you've achieved using the mansard roof décor on multiple levels, although it seems like it'd be difficult to play since they don't drop back the way walls do. You have a very lush style of interior decorating & landscaping, which is fun to see.

ajcrawly: I'm not familiar with the Shinra Mansion, but your entry has a very luxurious feel with some clever making-do with the original external walls. The bedroom with the greenery behind the glass wall is my favorite.

witch: Would be nice to see a potion shop.

Something much smaller. I think a lot of people were put off by the size and scale of this house. The people who entered this month did a good job, but it was the kind of house you really have to work on for awhile. Perhaps we could do something from Veronaville, as there are some interesting houses there. Although Desiderata Valley is chock full of houses of phail.

And how about doing one for The Sims 3? I loathe building in the game, as they make it so horrible to control and annoying. However, I wouldn't mind redoing a house.
