Hack objects in apartments and deleting apartment neighbours

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Hi

I have two questions concerning apartment lots. First, where do I best place hack objects, like the lotdebugger or the lotsynctimer? Do you keep them in the community area or must each apartment have its own set of hack objects?

Second, if I'm playing an apartment, can I delete a townie neighbour living on the same apartment lot or will this blow things up? (delete = using the tutorial in the War Room on sim deletion.)

Thanks for your help.

These objects are best placed in the common area so that the single object will function for everyone, although no harm is done if you have multiples or give each apartment its own (but why?)

This is not recommended and may have unforseen consequences, as I have not tried it. You're welcome to guinea pig this, though: In THEORY, deleting the neighbor and then using "Fix Bad Residencies" SHOULD clean it up, although you MAY have to evict everyone from the building if the unit becomes inoperable.

Thanks, this is exactly what I wanted to know. And no, I don't much fancy being a guinea pig, I'd rather not blow this 'hood up, hence I asked.

I normally give each apartment its own lotsynctimer, to keep track of each household individually.  If I just put one in the communal area will that keep track of all the different playable households on the lot?

Yes. The timer will function for the currently active family.

I was thinking more from the point of view of playing a household on another lot entirely and checking the timer to see which lot was next in my rotation.

You can do that, too. That has always been available, clicking on timer will show you the day # on other lots.
