Is there a hack where you can put residential items on community lots?

  I dont have any EPs, and no, im not a Mac user. Im just broke. But anyways, is there a hack where i can put residential items on community lots?

Just use the cheat:

changeLotZoning residential/community/greek/dorm/secret society to change the lot to residential, put in the bed or whatever you want to put in, then change it back to community.  You need to save and exit after you type in the cheat, then re-enter the lot.

Note that it goes in the collections folder and not downloads.

Also, you can create a residential lot, save it and then exit the game and change it to community with SimPE.

Sorry, Mortimer, I never thought of that, and trust Motoki to know the answer!  I never even thought about using simPE!  Shows I'm tired and I should go and get some sleep!
