Some help with torrents?

OK, I used search first.  But I didn't seem to be able to find a tutorial, or anything that described the process well enough that I did not fear breaking my computer out of my ineptitude.  So, if such a thing exists, please point me towards it and laugh at me. 

Basically, I know this.  Find realiable torrent site.  Read comments to make sure torrent does not equal TROJAN/FAKE.  Find a key and use it to install.

As the file appears to be something called a .torrent, I know I am missing a step here.  Surely there must be some kind of program necessary to open such a thing?

Also, how do you make sure the key you are using has not been used 3 times already?

I'm sorry for my neediness, by the by.  I'm just terrified of Massive Computer Death.  Or, y'know, downloading a 930 MB file only to find it useless to me.  Either one.

When it begins to seed...
Download Daemon Tools Lite. http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon Install.
Right click on icon in taskbar, virtual cdrom. Device, mount image. Point it to the torrent you just downloaded.
Now get the nocd crack for your latest expansion from www.gamecopyworld.com. Replace latest EP's .exe with the new exe. No Securom.

ETA: Huh. When I knew nothing about torrents, I just search engined around and figured it out. The hardest step was figuring out how to mount a .rar image. Sorry if this is too advanced.

There are lots of Newbie steps missed in Kazzandra's summary. Check for an online tutorial GameCopyWorld has some, or did last time I looked.

I agree utorrent is the best client.
If you use a router to connect to the net, portforward.com is the place to learn that side.

Please seed everything you download back to at least 100%. That's how you get to download, because others have done the same.

If you're talking about that 3-times-max installation thing that's supposed to be used with the latest version of Securom in upcoming games, that doesn't exist in Free Time (and I'm pretty sure not in K&B or Ikea either). And well, since we're talking about ARRing here, no worries about Securom anyway.

Obviously, you never attempt to enter a pirated key on the official site. It never works, anyway. And if someone else has the same serial number, which EAxis claims is very unlikely, hey, sucks to be them.

This was also an issue with the Spore Creature Creator, since the last 25% of parts wouldn't unlock without the game being verified. Vitality has cracked it, though.

I am about to embark on a massive battle with my modem and internet company.  I'm paying for 840 kb/s, and getting around 10 kb/s.  Have been since November, when it decided a "Network cable is unplugged."  No it damn well isn't!  Usually I don't worry to much about it, but downloading this... I let it run overnight and its still only at 32%. Dxx  Been in voicejail for a while now...

Check your router/hub, modem, etc. and physically unplug and replug every cable, then reset.  I get that error occasionally and nothing less seems to fix it.

Obfuscation is the first step on an ongoing arms race. ISPs can't distinguish encrypted traffic from any other encrypted datastream, but by forcing them to escalate, you'll reduce quality of service across the board to everyone until it becomes a REAL issue. If they try to kill encrypted traffic, they'll kill every other kind of encrypted traffic as well, so people won't be able to bank, work, or do anything else. This is going to piss a lot of people off, and the more people you can piss off, the more likely you can form an unruly mob and march on their headquarters. Remember, this is WAR. If you can provoke the ISPs into reprisals against the population, you will get them to support your cause.

This is a good time to force the issue as we have just got shot of a foreign owned monopoly on our telecom systems and there is a lot of competition for customers. It's the right climate in which to push for faster cheaper data.

If you are getting the Vitality version, there is a keygen program in the Vitality folder after you mount the disk w/ Daemon tools and "Explore" it. Copy & paste a couple of SNs to notepad and then install the game from the Daemon mount.

I took the pirate plunge when the Spore Creature Creator installed SecuROM on my computer after I had been at such pains to avoid it with Sims 2. Enough is enough.

A little extra help...  After you download and mount the file with Daemon, you may find that there is a folder on your virtual CD with some funny name like Crack or Vitality or some such.  Go into that folder and you will often find the no-cd crack and/or a keygen.  That will save you a lot of searching and downloading.  It can be easy to overlook.

Also, PLEASE be sensible enough to run a virus-check on everything on that CD before you install it. Including the crack and keygen.

Remember, this is WAR. If you can provoke the ISPs into reprisals against the population, you will get them to support your cause.

You really shouldn't need to. The bigger torrent producers (ViTaLiTy and uh...the one that starts with a D or something, they both whore their names after the torrent title) will always include either the needed keygen or a file with the key on it. If a torrent is available from them, I wouldn't choose one from anyone else.

I love FFF EA generic multi keygen thingy, you can get the serials of ALL EA games that's been released. And you can customize it (See the FT serial I posted )
