Freezing Phones From Freetime

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I haven't seen anyone else talking about this, so maybe it's just me. Ever since installing the Freetime expansion pack my phones cause the game to freeze for a second when I hover over them. All phones seem to do this, custom or EAxis. I tried removing my The Sims 2 folder from My Documents but they still did it. Did the pulled patch fix this?

I haven't seen that happen. Are any errors generated?

I am unpatched and this is not happening in my game.  Phones work normally, according to phonehack specs.  Are you conceivably oldversioned?

I'm wondering.

Although it might be hack related, I'm thinking it's a graphic card or other issue. As far as I know, the only time hovering over something matters is when you hover over a sim, so that the name pops up. Hovering over the phones shouldn't do anything. Unless for some reason the phones are checking to see if they are Sims, then deciding they aren't, really?

What happens when you hover over sims? What happens when you hover over a tree, or the mail box?

I believe that mousing over the phone does something with regards to figuring out what options there should be on it or something involving your sim's phone book - I seem to recall corrupt phonebooks causing jumps when mousing over the phone.

I'm getting this too in a clean hood, with not many people in the house hold phone book. No errors are generated, but it pisses me off to no end.

I was just about to post a new thread about this! Thank god I found someone who has the same issue as me!
More so, is there any way to fix it? I am about to go insane and haul a poo bag into my monitor if I don't figure out how to fix it. Cry

Nope, no errors. Just a very annoying pause any time I mouse over a phone. All my stuff is up to date for Freetime, I deleted every hack before installing it. Nothing happens when mousing over Sims, there might sometimes be a slight pause when clicking on them, but nothing consistent.

Edit 1: Also, when in build and buy mode it takes it's sweet time when trying to rotate things. Not everything though.

Edit 2:It seems the more crap you have the longer it freezes the game. I took my downloads out again and tried it. Mousing over the phone doesn't freeze the game as long but it still does. Those of you who have not noticed it could you please try moving the cursor over the phone quickly on and off. You should be able to see the sims stuttering. Could you please also tell what kind of processors your computers have? My computer has a 2.2 Core2Duo and 2.5 GB memory.

Oh I see stuttering.

Now, don't laugh...
AMD Sempron 3100+
1GB Ram
ATI 9550 128MB

No other problems with lag.

However: this seems to have abated a bit with K&B stuff added.

I'm not sure, but I think installing the pulled patch might have helped with this. It seems like the slowdown is a little bit less now. You can still get it from here, here.

Well, the patch Simsbaby linked helped, I should try and get K&B. I hope that will help.

Nope, no errors. Just a very annoying pause any time I mouse over a phone.
Mousing over the phone causes a hiccup on slow computers because the phone is an extremely dense item with a whole lot of computation that goes into running its check trees. Practically every sim in the neighborhood gets iterated over, often several times, during a phone mouseover. If your neighborhood is large, this can be a lot of sims.
