Question about flags value in skins property set
« on: 2008 April 12, 05:03:11 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I was Townifying some Maxis clothing recolors with jfade's Wardrobe Wrangler, and noticed that "Townify" button sets the flags of custom clothing to 0x10, not 0x00. Official EAxis-made preorder skins also have 0x10 flags. So it seems that removing custom star alone (by editing product and creator value) is not enough to make townies to be spawned with decustomized clothing, you must set the flags to 0x10 as well.

Is it true? If so, what about clothing unlockers? Let's say I made a clothing unlocker for red flamenco dress which is now hidden in CAS by the patch. I extracted the property set for flamenco dress, and noticed that flags value was changed to 0x09. If I want townies to be spawned with this dress, do I have to set the flags to 0x10 like Townified custom clothing? Or back to 0x00, like other EAxis default clothing?

Some FT hidden clothing like H&M outfits or sewing machine outfits have 0x29 flags. Is it different from 0x09 flags that was previously used by hidden clothing?

IIRC, 0x01 is "hidden". Unset that bit and the item will not be hidden.

I know that if adult clothing is set to 0x00 they won't show up for YA (I have no idea why).  So I whined at jfade until he changed it to 0x10.
Not sure that would affect skin.

So changing it to 0x10 makes them show up for YA, too?

I searched all over when I basically ruined all my clothes with the WW, and the only thing I could find mentioned changing the version and product flags to 0, too, and that made all mine show up again in the YA bin.  Curious.

The WW is fixed now, if you re-towniefy they'll show up for YA.

I know that, but I don't really have any interest in using the program again after fixing about 3000 clothing files manually in SimPE AFTER using the WW.  Also, isn't the "fixed" version still hidden away in the forums while the clothing breaking one is still available on the front page?

I'm more curious about the different values having the same end result when changed.
