What happened to "Write Term Paper"?

I'm playing the "Friends" household that came with Uni, and Mitch and Max keep mysteriously losing their ability to write their Term Papers.  Max couldn't write his at all last semester, but he did this semester.  Mitch wrote most of his term paper this semester (got it to about 90%) then went to bed, and now the option to finish it isn't there - just "Change Major".  There weren't any errors, I don't have any hacks that alter Term Papers (or the computer, for that matter), and I'm at a complete loss.  Nothing of note happened between when he was writing his term paper and now, except perhaps it changed to Fall.  Any ideas of what I can try?

I don't know about Max, unless you had influenced him to write a term paper for someone else while playing a different household.  That was my personal favourite glitch, and contribution, to the borken term paper thread.

Ah.  That explains both then.  Max did just get into a greek house, and I don't remember specifically but I do often have pledges do Term Papers.  I assume both issues are stll unresolved?  I have patched BV, so I can say that it's definately still a problem.

So, I guess I'll try reloading the lot, be more careful about Fall from now on, and I'll stop influencing playables to write term papers - but that's a very low blow.  Someone Awesome should do something about this (or at least someone semi-awesome).

   Just to throw a different wrench into the gear, but i've never had the 'Influence term paper' glitch UNTIL installing Seasons.  I've never played the Vanilla Base game tho, started with University/FFS/Base at the same time.  Added NL (still no glitch).  Adding Seasons and the glitch showed it's ugly head (Patched).  No Pets/BV EP.

I'm having a similar issue with my newest dorm.
I started a set of sisters out on renting a property so I could set it up the way I wanted, then switched the lot to "dorm", exited, re-entered, etc. BEFORE I switched it to dorm, they could write term papers, do group research (or single research), save leftovers.. AFTER I switched it and re-entered, there were no such options on plates, computers, and bookshelves. I didn't notice it until I set all three on Rampage and caught one of them frozen in front of the bookcase with the icon flashing faster than a strobe light. I've been having them do multiple assignments and then cheating the "Write Term Paper" want on those that get it.
I haven't played any sims through Uni in a while, but I remember after I put in Seasons, even the dorms were capable of saving leftovers. I made a point of stocking a dozen bowls/plates in each dorm for after-hours parties and mid-study snacking.

Actually, that's the same wrench.    Both the turning Autumn glitch, and the borken influence are due to Seasons.  Influencing term papers came only with Uni (think about it  ) and worked fine until Seasons, which is the highest EP I have.  I s'pose it's perversely reassuring that nothing has changed with BV.

No, I'm not using that.  Come to think of it, I do have a hack that lets teens move out that's enabled on the computer in addition to the newspaper, but since I'm bumping into known issues here I doubt that's the problem.

In mine, term papers have returned, but not so the leftover saving and group/single research.

I don't think your term paper/leftovers issues are from the same bug.  Did you change lot zoning while the lot was occupied?  If so, that might have been the cause.  I change lot zoning all the time with no problems, but only on unoccupied lots.

Loss of term papers from changing seasons to Autumn, and by influencing a playable while on a different lot, are both EAxis bugs.  They are reproducible in a vanilla game (no CC) without using any cheats at all.  I tested it before hunting for a hack conflict.

Yep, changed it after they'd moved in. Here's the thing, though.. I'm still seeing a fluctuation in the availability of Term Papers and Group Research. I finally gave up and ordered all playables to grab a book, then deleted the bookcase. NOW they rampage just fine, as far as Group or Single Research goes.
