More house levels

Seriously, how the fuck do I get a roof on my 4-level house? It has no basement. The only cheat I can find online is sethighestallowedlevel #, which does nothing.

ETA: Basement = foundation, and it does have one. Sorry. I must be drunk.

Try the cheat again, and enter it on the ground level.  Go up to your highest level, and if it wont go up any further, try placing a two or three-story column.

Trying to place a dormer should work as well. I used to use that trick until I remembered to put the set highest level in my cheat file.

I've had problems with the cheat if I try to enter it after I've reaced the limit.  Usually saving and re-entering, or using one of the tricks mentioned above does it.

That cheat wouldn't work for me either. I had to finally use the dormer trick to be able to finish off my highest level.

The cheat doesn't always work right away. Depending on which EPs you have, you may need to return to neighborhood view, then lot edit mode. Also, be careful not to go too high or the game engine may crash to the desktop.

I have it in my userStartup.cheat file. That way it loads when you load the game. Always works for me without problems.

Also, it seems like higher levels have an increasingly bad effect on your frame rate.
